The console was conceived in 2001, as the Nintendo GameCube was first seeing release. According to an interview with Nintendo’s game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, the concept involved focusing on a new form of player interaction and accessories to buy for the Wii. “The consent was that intensity isn’t everything for a console. Too many almighty consoles can’t exist together. It’s like having only predatory dinosaurs. They might fight and accelerate their own death.”
Since the release of the Nintendo Wii in November 2006, the company has sold over 9 million consoles worldwide, according to the NPD Circle. The Wii is the second most desired gift on Amazon’s wedding registry. Its fame should come as no shake up, given that it’s very interactive, promotes activity, welcomes peaceable competition and has bountiful options for you to buy Wii accessories.
